Install on a new PC
Create a new folder “Resmanager” in Program Files on each user’s PC
Download the database engine to your PC from http://www.ollivercomms.co.uk/Downloads/Alt_Setup_BDE52.zip
Unzip/ Extract All Files from Alt_Setup_BDE52.zip to a suitable temporary folder on each user’s PC
Run SETUP.EXE in this group of files accepting all defaults (takes less than a minute).
Download the latest version of ResManager by clicking on "ResManager V499 (application executable only)" at http://www.ollivercomms.co.uk/downloads.html This will download a file ResManager.zip to your PC.
Unzip/Extract All Files from ResManager.zip, it contains two files: "Resmanager.exe" and "ReadMe ResManager V4 Update.txt". The latter contains brief instructions.
Copy ResManager.exe to the new folder “Resmanager” in Program Files on each user’s PC. Create a shortcut to ResManager.exe in this folder and copy this shortcut to the desktop.
Run Resmanager.exe (i.e. double click on the new desktop icon for ResManager) on each PC and when prompted browse to the shared data folder on the network drive.The location of this folder is stored in c:\program files\resmanager\resmanl.ini on other ResManager users' PCs. (This only needs doing once on each PC.) Note that each user must have full read, write, create and delete rights to this shared data folder.
Update existing install
Download the latest version by clicking on "ResManager V499 (application executable only)" in the Downloads page. This will download a file ResManager.zip to your PC. This zip contains Resmanager.exe (the application executable) and instructions.
Replace existing instances of ResManager.exe on each user’s PC with this one (path is typically C:Program Files\Resmanager\Resmanager.exe)
